A big thank you for stepping up #GenerationRestoration by being part of the  
“Peace Is Green-Every Act Matters” the world’s longest and largest  
environment online event, non-stop for 24 hours from 4th to 5th June 2021.

The event was held to mark launch of “Decade on Restoration” by United  
Nations Environment Programme, and celebrate World Environment Day 2021.
Tim Christophersen, head of UNEP’s Nature for Climate Branch, Ecosystems  
Division inaugurated the event, along with Dr Bishwajit Saha, Director of  
Central Board of Secondary Education, Govt of India. Apart from experts  
from wildlife, forest, mountain, coastal and blue economy, environmental  
and climate activists, youth voices, educators, students, the thinkers and  
the doers, from over 70 countries joined the event. Speakers included  UN  
COP26 High Level Climate Champion, Nigel Topping, mountaineer and son of  
legendary Edmund Hillary, Peter Hillary, National Geographic Explorer,  
Niall Maccan, Co-Founder, The POP Movement, and son of Nobel peace prize  
winner Dr Rajendra Pachaury,  Dr Ash Pachaury, Founder, Sanctuary Asia,  
Bittu Sahgal, Founder, Environment Online, Mika Vanhanen, youth activists,  
Ridhima Pandey, Misimi Isimi, Frank Finkbeiner and Andrea Nava, Miss Earth  
2020, Lindsey Coffey, Miss Earth 2010, Nicole Faria, Poet and voice behind  
UNEP launch video, Jordan Sanchez, Member of European Parliament, Sirpa  
Pietikäinen, and Chairman of ENO Schoolnet Association, Kaija Saramaki. You
